đź’Ą Door #1 or Door #2?
One big room full of badass women.
It’s been a while since I found myself in one of those, but last weekend was the perfect reentry into my natural habitat.
I traveled down to DC for the JWI Women To Watch Leadership Conference and co-led a session on healing from the hustle. And while the workshop was a success, I actually can’t stop thinking about the pearl of wisdom another woman shared the next day.
Among the 10 women who were honored at this weekend’s conference for being inspiring Jewish women role models was Robin London, Head of Global Display Advertising at Amazon (NBD). Robin made a risky pivot from Big Law to emerging tech in the 90’s. Just two years after graduating from law school- knee-deep in student loan debt and in a coveted post-grad job- she took a risk on this new company called America Online doing a job unrelated to law that she didn’t really understand.
It was here that Robin realized that we humans make two types of decisions: two-way door decisions and one-way door decisions.
